Company History

The ideas and inspirations that evolved into the viewSender project first took form in 2006 when a search for neutral, non-punitive, non-restrictive, non-labor-intensive tools to evaluate computer usage and productivity in a small department of an oilfield services company didn’t find anything. The viewSender applications (ScreenNanny, ScreenSender, and finally viewSender) began development in earnest as the nation became aware of the Megan Meier tragedy (Megan was a teenager who committed suicide when a neighbor created a non-existent Facebook boyfriend to humiliate and reject her). It became apparent that the primitive tools used by Megan's parents to supervise her online conversations weren’t up to the task and that their focus was not on the real problem (their emphasis was on prevention and restriction rather than monitoring).

At the same time, the viewSender project was being supported through money earned by its staff writing software for other companies, and our employees were exposed to (and learned from) a rich diversity of office environments and management styles in every field imaginable. Combined with equally diverse experiences of more than two decades of consulting and programming, these real-world situations help viewSender achieved its current design, pushing the technology envelope to achieve fairness and accuracy while respecting privacy and reducing costs for the purchaser. In late 2008, the viewSender project was officially launched as a business with the simple idea of distributing our products online via our website as they were developed. By early 2009, we had the beginnings of a solid business plan, and Geethanjali Ramachandrappa joined us as a gifted programmer and our first employee/partner. In mid-2009, James Cardle came on board as our top-tier patent attorney, giving our intellectual property strength and value. Ping Ho joined us shortly thereafter to provide intelligence and experience managing our Internet presence and integrating that with our products and services. In late 2009, Ebenezer Oparemi began helping us with his considerable Web development and graphics talents.

The viewSender project is in an exciting phase - we have achieved a number of our early goals, and we are now actively seeking funding and other partnerships as we advance towards the first release of our products.
